It's about interview taken by people in software companies. Sometimes I am amazed to see that the interviewer tries to find out the questions which the person sitting on the other side of table should not be able to answer. Isn't it satisfying the interviewer's ugly ego ?
For me, the person should have good programming skills which could be easily judged by asking some tricky questions where he applies his/her mind. Then there should be some puzzles. This is the best way to judge the problem solving attributes of a candidate.
I am no where comfortable if a person is asked like questions ....
"How to write a program to print its own source code as output ?"
Are you insane ?
I doubt the intentions of the interviewer after such questions. At the same time, candidates are smarter as they find a lot of materials available on net which answers these so called tricky questions. Here are few links which could be helpful to serve the need of the hour for candidates -
